Mary Evelyn Wood May 23, 1930 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mary Evelyn Wood, age 88, of Shelbina, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Salt River Community Care Center in Shelbina, Missouri. Mary was born on May 23, 1930, in Leonard, Missouri, the daughter of William Raymond and Ora Estelle (Dodd) Winget. She was united in marriage to Paul Eugene Wood on March 11, 1950 in Shelbina, Missouri at the Shelbina Baptist Parsonage.

This month, celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary. Paul survives. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbina.

In her earlier years, she volunteered at the church by teaching the Sunbeam after school program. She played the piano for church services for many years. While her daughters were growing up, she volunteered for their local 4-H Chapter, as well as, other local clubs and school activities.

In her later years, Mary volunteered at the local nursing home by playing piano. She also hosted and attended Bibles studies. Mary was a loyal St. Louis Cardinal fan, and she enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, crocheting, and entertaining and decorating for family events.

She loved to cook, especially for her family, for special occasions and holidays. She loved her family and looked forward to visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Faith, Family, and Friends were her priorities throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jean Hines and husband Steve of Shelbina, Missouri; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Greg) Frankenbach, Jamie (Jil) Boling, Daniel Hines, and Amber Hines; four great grandchildren, Miranda Frankenbach, Carson Frankenbach, Cailyn Hines, and Emma Warden; one son-in-law, Rod Boling of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Erma Morrison of Monmouth, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Dianne Boling; and one brother-in-law, Bill Morrison. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, Missouri.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Shelbina Cemetery, following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Church Kum Dubl Scholarship Fund or Neighbors Helping Neighbors or Donor’s Choice.
