BRAINTREE – Mary J. Cirignano, was born in Roxbury, MA. She received her education in the Boston Schools. She was the daughter of the late Giuseppe D’Amico and Maria Buongiorno D’Amico.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul J. Cirignano, Sr She was the mother of Carol Ann Swift of Raynham, loving wife of the late John Swift and Paul John Cirignano, Jr. married to Theresa (Harrison) of Brockton. She is survived by two grandchildren, Sandra LaCivita married to Anthony of Raynham, MA and Michael Bohlken of Illinois and survived by seven great grandchildren.

She leaves many loving nieces and nephews. She had ben a manager and department head for the Bank of Boston before her retirement. May has been very active with the Braintree Dept.

of Elder Affairs (formally Braintree Council on Aging) where she served on the board for a total of thirteen years and served on the board for a total of 29 years. She received the United States Presidential award as an outstanding volunteer. Mary was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in South Braintree where she served as a counter and participated in Church bazarrs.

She was a Past President of AARP and the Catholic Women’s Club. She had been a treasurer for the Alliance for Respiratory Care and a charter member of that group. She belonged to RSVP.

She had received the Martin Luther King, Jr. award. She belonged to the Women of the Moose Lodge. She had been a treasurer of the Walk for Hospice .

Mary belonged to the Braintree Historical Society. She was a volunteer at the Thayer Public Library and the East Civic Association. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 6th from 4 to 8 PM, at the Braintree PECK Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St. Braintree.

The funeral service will be at held at 9 AM on Wednesday November 7th, at Saint Francis of Assisi, 850 Washington St. Braintree, MA. Donations maybe made to the Braintree Dept. of Elder Affairs, 71 Cleveland Ave.
