Obituary for Mary Lou Spang Mary Lou Spang, age 74, of Springboro, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Kettering Medical Center. Mary Lou was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 2, 1944 to the late John Rush and Bertha Mulligan. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Spang.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Brian) Whitt, Tami (Tom) Barlow; two grandsons, Alex Barlow, Brody Barlow; granddaughter, Faith Whitt; sister, Patricia (Thomas) Bach; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family from California. Mary Lou retired from the University of Dayton after many years working in the Accounting Department for the Dean. In her spare time, Mary Lou loved to volunteer.

She was a co-founder of Puppy Pals Rescue out of Beavercreek. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play their sports and also loved camping and boating at Dale Hollow Lake. She was an avid sewer and crafter.

She loved to crochet prayer shawls in which she donated. In her last few months, she lived at Atria Assisted Living in Springboro where she made many new friends. Mary Lou will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Henry Catholic Church, 6696 Springboro Pike Dayton, OH 45449. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Homes, 40 North Main Street Springboro, OH 45066.
