Obituary for Mary Louise Smith LaPoint Mrs Mary Louise Smith LaPoint, age 78 of Mineola, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Tyler. She was born on February 22, 1940 in Mineola to the late Tom Belcher and Mary Frances Belcher. She was a retired supervisor for American Recreation and member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents; first husband, Troy Smith and brother, T.J. Belcher. She is survived by her husband, Gene LaPoint of Mineola, daughters, Sheila Brotherton of Kansas City, MO and Gail Barnett of Mineola; sisters, Bobbie Bronsell of Missouri City, TX and Debra Hitesman of Union City, TN; five grandchildren, Sarah Barnett, Andrea Wheeler and her husband Jack, Leah Leach, Justin Dillard and Joshua Dillard; great grandchildren, Jackson Wheeler, Noah Wheeler and five step children. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5396 S. State Hwy.

37 Mineola, TX 75773. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm, Rev. Fred Morrow conducting.

Interment will be at New Hope Cemetery near Mineola.
