Mary S. Banks, 97, of Anderson, passed away on May 28, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on May 23, 1922 in Middletown, and resided most of her life in Anderson. She worked for Delco Remy Division of General Motors, and Pendleton Heights High School in the Cafeteria.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Hat Society, and Red-tail Land Conservancy. She enjoyed camping with her husband, playing cards and games with her friends, and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her sons, Steve (Aliscia) Banks, Barry (Jamie) Banks, Bill Banks; grandchildren, Dustin (Robin) Banks, Jenifer (Danny) Hodgins, Ryan Banks, Liles Banks, Molly (Jonathan) Pilgreen, Chelsea (Brian) Watters, Hunter (Kalah) Banks; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Mae Kendall, Ivy Hostetler; daughter-in-law, Deanna Banks; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clarence Banks; mother, Esta Hunter; father, Clint Hunter; siblings, Natha Lee Burlison, Wilbur Hunter, William Hunter, Dallas Hunter. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 2, 2019, 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St. Anderson. Services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 3, 2019, at the funeral home, with Pastor Matthew Manning officiating.

Burial will take place in Miller Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church. www.
