Roy Douglas “Doug” Thomas, 70, of Anderson, passed away May 14, 2019 at his residence. He was born on October 4, 1948 in Anderson, Indiana. Roy graduated in 1967 from Madison Heights High School.

He served his country in the US Navy from 1967-1971, in Germany and was on the Navy bowling team. He retired as a Fork Lift Driver for Inland Fisher Guide. He was an avid bowler, winning every award presented by the ABC and WIBC.

He bowled both a 300 game and an 800 series at Coopers Sport Bowl. He was also an avid camper having camped at Old Mill Run Park in Thorntown for 34 years. He also loved fishing and playing cards.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Lindie Thomas; daughter, Melissa Nyboer, sister, Cindy Howard, grandchildren, Angelous Thomas, Jaron Nyboer, Zander Nyboer, Charisma Nyboer; several step-siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Thomas; granddaughter, Keeley Gabrielle Thomas, father, Raymond Thomas; mother, Norma Thomas Eytchison; stepfather, Ralph “Cowboy” Eytchison; brother, Michael Thomas; step-grandson, Ronald Hickman. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 19, 2019, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St. Anderson, IN.

Services will be Sunday, May 19, 2019, 4:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Ned Clark officiating followed by military honors. Cremation will take place.
