Obituary for Mary M. (Slade) McKinstry McKinstry, Mary M. passed away at Hoyt Nursing Home on September 8, 2018. She was 86 years old. Mary Mildred Slade was born on August 17, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Charles E. and Mildred (Johnson) Slade.

She married Harold Keith McKinstry on December 2, 1950; he survives her. Mary graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1950. She enjoyed working part time as a clerk at Granger & Nitz Drug Store for many years.

Mary and Keith were faithful members of Peace Lutheran Church, but beforehand, Faith Lutheran Church was just behind their house. During that time, Mary was a Sunday school teacher and a Superintendent. While at Peace Lutheran, she participated in the Wednesday morning bible study.

Mary’s most favorite activity was spending time at the cottage on Long Lake with her family, fishing, sitting on the swing or being on the paddle boat. Mary will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 67 years, Keith; two daughters and one son: Harold (Diane, deceased) McKinstry, Jr., Kathy Goodwin, Nancy (Gary) Frey; five grandchildren: David McKinstry, Mark McKinstry, Kristen (Steve Trumbull) Goodwin, Jennifer Gruesbeck, and Jonathan (Stacey) Stadnika; two great-grandchildren: Paityn and Oliver Gruesbeck; one brother, Charles E. Slade; one sister, Georgene Gifford; four sisters-in-law: Joyce Dupuis, Diane Pattinson, June Muscott, and Faye McKinstry; one brother-in-law, Gene McKinstry; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Andrew Slade.

FUNERAL: A funeral service for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. , Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev.

Matthew Hauser will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: The family will receive friends at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd.
