Mary was born in Rosebud, Texas on March 16, 1935 to Benjamin and Pauline (Coronado) Veracruz. She was a resident of Sinton, Texas for the past 43 years and formerly of Portland, Texas. Mary was a retired nurse.

Preceding in death are her parents: Benjamin and Pauline Veracruz; brothers: Salvador Veracruz and Edward Veracruz; sisters: Helen Lopez; Pauline Veracruz and Juanita Veracruz. Survivors include her son: Catarino Rodriguez (Crystal) of Lake City, Florida; daughter: Patricia Ann Rodriguez (Jay) of Sinton, Texas; Cindy Ann Ivey (Bobby) of Sinton: Texas; grandchildren: Jason Rodriguez of Portland, Texas; Candace Rodriguez of Aransas Pass, Texas; Cody and Casey Rodriguez both of Lake City, Florida; Augie and Tamera Peralez of Ingleside, Texas; Antoni Peralez of Sinton, Texas; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Josie Figueroa of Bakersville, California; Del Rodriguez of Bryan, Texas; Benjamin Veracruz Jr.; Roy Veracruz and Calistro Veracruz all of Bryan, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019, 3:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton.

A rosary will follow the same evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 29, 2019, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Sinton. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery, Sinton.
