Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Age 55 years. She was born on October 25, 1962, the daughter of Louis R. and Maria Elena (Vela) Hernandez, Sr., in Saginaw.
MaryLou married Roberto Perez on December 29, 1990. He survives her. She was a member of Agape Faith Fellowship Church and a graduate of Davenport University.
MaryLou was employed as a records clerk at the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department. She loved reading the Bible, going to church and doing the work of the Lord. She enjoyed traveling, couponing, camping and most of all, spending time with her family.
MaryLou will be sadly missed by her husband, Roberto; her children, Yvette Pena (Mike Valdez), Stephanie Pena (Teaghun Brethauer), Christopher Perez (Francesca Gnatkowski), Roberto (Inez) Perez Jr. and Elizabeth Perez (Ramiro DeLaCruz); her parents, Louis and Maria Elena Hernandez, Sr.; her grandchildren, Angelita, Angelo, Mariano, Cecilia, Mikey, Celestina, Santino, Jesse, Lilliana, Lailah, Brooklyn, Angelo, Roberto III, Matheo, Diego, Romulo, Daniella (Eddie), Elbira (Pedro) and Eamon; her great grandchildren, Rosalinda, Josefina, Eddie, Daniel, Estella, Charlotte and Rafael; her siblings, Debbie Hernandez (Fernando), Corina Hernandez (Paul), Louie (Cynthia) Hernandez, Dorra Hernandez (Eddie), Robert Hernandez and Josie Hernandez (Corey); her brother and sister-in-loves, Romulo (Gloria) Perez Jr., Federico (Lupe) Perez, David (Laura) Perez, Richard (Mary) Perez and Johnny Perez; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, including Esmeralda, Sylvia, Norma and Ernesha. She was predeceased by her sister, Jacqueline Rhea Hernandez. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her spiritual parents, Dr. Joseph and Eva Rodriguez, the A.F.F. family, the Leading Lady Ministry and the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Department.
Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Dr. Joseph Rodriguez will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the chapel from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present for a celebration of life that will take place at 6:00 p.m. Friends may also visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
