Matthew D. Steinbacher, 44, of Jonestown, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in his home, surrounded by the people he loved the most. Born on September 19, 1974 in Norwich, New York, he was the son of Pat Mack Pardue, of Georgia, and Maximillion Steinbacher, of New York. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Maximillion “Rick” Steinbacher, of New York; daughter, Ashley Steinbacher, of Jonestown; son, Tyler Steinbacher, of Jonestown; grandson, Christopher Miller; mother of his children and best friend, Tammy Kreiser Long, of Jonestown; best friend, Jeffrey Kreiser, husband of Juanita Kreiser, father of Elizabeth Kreiser; as well as many family and friends.

Matt graduated from Northern Lebanon High School with the Class of 1992. He worked for Good’s Transport of Newmanstown since 2017, where he drove truck. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Matt loved hanging out in the garage, and spending time with friends. He enjoyed taking trips to Raystown. He was an extremely hard worker, and knew how to play even harder.

Matt also loved spending time with his best friend and sidekick, Cooter, his jack russel. He would do anything for anyone. He was an amazing father, “Grampy,” and friend.

His pride and joy was his grandson, and he let everyone who crossed his path know it. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kramer & Lum Funeral Home and Crematory, Rt 72 & Camp Meeting Rd, Jonestown. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Hill Chapel, Jonestown.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WellSpan Sechler Family Cancer Center in Lebanon in honor of Matthew Steinbacher.
