Mr. Gerald “Matthew” Strickland, 44 of Barwick passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Mr. Strickland was born January 26, 1974 to the late Gerald Kenneth Strickland and Martha Ann Barlow Strickland. He was a night auditor at the Baymont Inn in Thomasville.

Survivors include his brother, Hugh (Michelle) Strickland of Sparks; sister, Amy (Tyler) Shoemake of Valdosta; nieces & nephews, Barlow Shoemake, Mitch Rowe, Timothy Rowe, and Shelbie Sutton; Uncle Paul (Sonja) Barlow of Barwick; Aunts, Sue Young of Barwick, and Drucilla Bennett of Thomasville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home with Elder Phillip Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Barwick.

The family will be receiving friends Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Maxwell-Purvis Funeral Home.
