Matthew Tyrel Ostergaard, 37, of Lindon passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018. He was born in Logan, Utah, April 8, 1981. A brave and enduring soul, Tyrel will continue his mission on the other side, accompanied by those who protected him on this side.

He is an example, and proof, that no matter how challenging life can be, our ability to show kindness to others will never leave us. As a child, Tyrel loved animals of all kinds. Snakes, rats, lizards and much to the dismay of his mother, he would do whatever he could to “help” them, even if that meant bringing them into the house to run wild.

He was the protector of all things smaller than him, including his younger brothers. He was a talented welder and excellent fisherman. He had friends wherever he went and never hesitated in helping people whenever he could.

He was a gentle person who stayed loyal to his friends and family. Tyrel is survived by his mother Claudia Marie Ostergaard (Berthold), son; Bradley Drake Ostergaard, and daughter, Courtney Lynn Ostergaard, siblings; Marcus Ostergaard, and Brandon Ostergaard, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him very much. He is preceded in death by his father, Arlan Ostergaard, and Grandfather, Mack Ostergaard.

Family and friends may attend a viewing Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the graveside service at 11:00 a.m. in the Lindon City Cemetery, 600 N 200 E, Lindon Utah.
