George Oren Peterson, 52, of Pleasant Grove unexpectedly passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born April 3, 1966 to Oren Vall and Sylvia Shell Peterson. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1984.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. George met his first wife, Laura Ruth Hamilton in high school. They were married on August 4, 1989 and together they had four sons: Alexander Wallace, Anthony Darrin, Andrew David and Aden George Rowley.
They were later divorced. He worked in Las Vegas as a lath and plaster worker with his Uncle Darrow’s business. He returned to Utah to start his own custom water feature landscape company.
With confidence and ease he designed, constructed and brought to life a tranquil garden and back yard entertainment area that would melt away a bad day and leave you with joyfulness. Each yard was an artistic masterpiece. He also created sculptures and sketches that transformed into beautiful works of art.
George provided many acts of services for those who needed labor done or needed materials to create their own masterpieces. He cared for everybody he met. If there was something you needed, he would give it to you or find it for you if he didn’t have it himself.
It didn’t matter what it was. George met his current wife Mandy U. Huntington in October of 2012 and they were married December 4, 2017. His greatest gift to her was giving her eyes to see her own worth.
He will be greatly missed. George is survived by his wife Mandy, his four sons: Alexander, Anthony, Andrew and Aden Rowley, his four stepchildren: Sena (Joshua) Draper, Rickey Grossnickle, Serenity Huntington and Jacob Huntington, his parents: Oren and Sylvia Peterson, siblings: Jay Dale Peterson, Brent Vall (Mona) Peterson, Sharon May (Clark) Salisbury, Debra Lynn Peterson, Randy Earnest (Jill) Peterson, Kevin John (Sue) Peterson, Valerie Hazel (Justin) Dansie, Shelley Ann (Spencer) Ellis. And many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dorus Earnest and Pearl Hazel Dalton Peterson and George William and Elfreda Olive Limb Shell. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 12 Noon in the Manila Eleventh Ward Chapel, 850 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:00 – 11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
