Irene Warnick Ostergaard, 90, of Lindon returned to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. She was born January 15, 1928 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Merrill Newell and Julia Lurena Eldredge Warnick. She married Mack Robert Ostergaard on May 29, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple by Mark E. Petersen.

Irene grew up in Manila and helped out on the Warnila Holstein Farm. She was the third child of eight children. The girls like the boys were expected to milk the cows and feed the calves.

She was blessed to know the value of hard work. During her formative years she was involved in the 4H program where she learned valuable skills that she used throughout her life. Her parents were a great example of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

They instilled in her the importance of the Saviors teachings and that the family is central to God’s plan. She attended Pleasant Grove High School where she was a cheerleader and excelled in academics. It was during a game that she was cheering at that she met her eternal companion.

This initiated the Mack and Irene Ostergaard family of Lindon, Utah. Mother enjoyed being a homemaker. She also had the opportunity to work at Utah Valley Hospital which led to her employment as an Office Manager for Kezarian, Chapman and McArthur Orthopedics.

Upon the passing of Grandpa and Grandma Ostergaard, Irene joined with Mack in expanding the family greenhouse that eventually became known as MILASSCO. Mother came up with this name which is the first initial of each family member in birth order. She was very proud of this business name.

This adventure helped beautify the yard; forged many lifelong friendships; family memories of transplanting together; provided flowers for Mother’s Day and community. Mother was very adept in organizing and maintaining a very tidy greenhouse. Her talents were evident in the flower pots she arranged and in her own flower beds that added a gorgeous ambiance to the home and yard.

The greenhouse was a of great satisfaction and the reputation of MILASSCO grew…. just like the plants. Mother’s testimony of the Savior was strong as was evident in the way she served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her passion and talents were shared in many different organizations from community involvement to religious leadership. Her influence will be felt by many generations to come. She served a mission with Dad in the Harrisburg, PA mission.

She was a faithful daughter of our Heavenly Father. Irene is survived by her children; Laurel Irene (Stephen)Cranney, Claudia M. Ostergaard, (daughter in law), Steven Harold (LeAnn) Ostergaard, Scott Newell (Colleen) Ostergaard and Charlene (Fred) Carlson, 27 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren. Siblings; Robert Warnick, Carl Warnick, Julia Hume and Mark Warnick.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mack, son, Arlan, grandsons, Thomas Loren Cranney and Matthew Tyrel Ostergaard; Parents and siblings Eldge Warnick, Nancy Carlisle and Marilyn W. Cook.
