Surrounded by those he loved the most, Douglas L. Peterson died peacefully in his home on September 22, 2018 after battling cancer for nearly a year. Doug spent the majority of his life in Utah County. He was born October 21, 1946, the third son of five to Eric and Ellen Peterson.

He graduated a Viking in 1964 from Pleasant Grove High School and also lived in Lindon and American Fork. “Pete”, as he was known to his co-workers, spent decades as a foreman in the coke plant at Geneva Steel. Later in life, he worked at the Utah Developmental Center as a grounds keeper and maintenance man.

He also obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University. Doug loved the deer hunt, Harleys and everything Lake Powell. Cold beer, campfires and good conversations were all he needed to be happy.

He was an excellent neighbor and friend, helping anyone who needed assistance. Survived by his wife, Tina (Watson) Peterson, his children; Dacia Weist (Raymond) and Damon Peterson (Cristina) plus three grand-daughters, Jayden (Weist), Olivia and Tishelle (Peterson) as well as his step-children, Mark Makin (Kamie), Cori Carter (Dusty) and Kelli Roark. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Diane ‘Sue’ Peterson and his parents.
