Bret H. Gilbert, 47, of Hurricane, Utah passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Bret was born March 24, 1971 in American Fork to Herb Gilbert Jr. and Charlotte Newman Gilbert. Bret grew up in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.

He was avid golfer and hunter. At the time of his passing, Bret worked at Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah. Bret had an unconditional love for his grandbabies.

They brought a lot of light to his eyes just as he did to theirs. He is survived by his daughter, Falysha Gilbert (Tysen Avery) Thompson, grandchildren: Anchor Ray Thompson, Legend Ellington Thompson, Baylor Shayde Avery; parents: Herb and Charlotte Gilbert; sisters: Shelly Lynn (Chandler) Buckley and Janeen Olsen and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant grandson Haven Michael Thompson.

Family and friends may attend a visitation for Bret, Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
