Obituary for Mattie Marie “Mickey” Flinn Rains Mattie Marie (Mickey) Myers Flinn Rains, was born September 5, 1929 to Thomas Andrew Myers and Maggie Gertrude Dennis Myers. She is the last of her generation and was preceded by her parents; two husbands, Roy Flinn, Sr. and J.J. Rains; two brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Myers; two sisters, Juanita Woodward and Dolly Bentley; one daughter, Ruthie May; and one great-granddaughter, Rachell Ranck. She is survived by four children, Roy Flinn, Jr. and wife Billie, Erline Ritchie and husband Johnny, Linda Mitchell and husband Charlie and Jack Flinn and wife Melodie; 10 grandchildren, David Canterbury (Christie), James Canterbury, Robert Swearengin, Tommy Swearengin (Tina), Jeff Swearengin and Veronica Shanks, Brandi Nix (John), Jackson Flinn (Montana), Chrystal Young (Doug), Erin Cook (Steve); 29 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jazlyn, Amiyah, Jordan, Luis, Alexis, Maddie, Ella, Colby, Titus, Christopher, Dusty, Wyatt, Madox, Paisley, Austin, Tyler, Brittany, Cortney, Justin, Shelby, Cody, Alex, Devon, Jake and Hunter; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mickey worked in retail sales most of her life at Sussman’s, Hunt’s Dept. Store, S&Q Clothiers and Dillard’s. She loved sewing and made clothing for herself and many others.

Mickey enjoyed bowling and was on several leagues. She was an avid bingo player and loved going to the casino. Later in life Mickey enjoyed making and selling Christmas candies at the casino.

She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her. A celebration of Mickey’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 6, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Diana Cox-Crawford officiating.
