Beloved father and grandfather passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his home. Age 90 years. The son of the late Earl and Alma (Buchner) Weed, Maurice was born February 10, 1928 in Brooks Township, Lambton County, Ontario, Canada.

He married Margaret Marks on September 11, 1948. She predeceased him December 27, 1986. He then married Catherine (Peggy) Jacobs on March 5, 1988.

She predeceased him November 14, 2006. Maurice then married Iva (Hamel) Weed on February 9, 2008. She predeceased him August 1, 2018.

He was employed as a meat manager at Ray’s Food Fair and was later employed at General Motors as an electrician for 25 years until his retirement in 1993. Maurice was a member of St. John Lutheran Church Amelith. He enjoyed camping, traveling and crafts.

Most of all, Maurice loved spending time with his family. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, William Earl (Janet) Weed, Hemlock; David Michael (Paula) Weed, Hemlock; Laurie Ann (Jerry) Potter, Hemlock; Susan Lynn (Terry) Bray, Hemlock; Brian Edward Weed, Hemlock; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four step-daughters and one step-son, Helen (Roy) McColgan III, Saginaw; Debra (James) Kling, Brighton; Tammy Jacobs, Bay City; Stephanie Krafft, Midland; Todd (Sheila) Jacobs, Lake Orion; many nieces and nephews. Maurice was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Bray, and by two sisters and one brother, Doris Kinna, Wilma Parke and Lyle Weed.

Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev.

Stephen Starke will officiate with burial in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Lung Association or Reverence Hospice.
