Obituary for Maxine Anderson Maxine Anderson, age 93, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Sycamore Springs Senior Living Community. Maxine was born on January 4, 1925, in Boomer, WV to Ernest and Katherine Anderson. She had four sisters, Nellie, Mildred, Jean and Lucille and one brother, Buren who have all preceded her in death.

Maxine retired from teaching in Fairfax County, VA after thirty-six years. She and her brother, Buren, moved to Johnson City, TN in 1988. She placed membership with Elizabethton Church of Christ at that time.

She believed the Lord knew she would someday be without any immediate, biological family, so He led her here to be with a devoted church family that she grew to love. She is survived by two nieces, Beth Hughes, of NC; Pat Jennings, of MO; cousins, Carl Sellards and his wife, Corky, his three brothers and one sister, and their spouses all of whom live in Beckley, WV; and cousin Joe Anderson and wife, Jan of IN. Several other cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Maxine Anderson will be conducted on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Mr. Roby Ellis, minister, officiating. Congregational singing will be under the direction of the church. The visitation will be in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday prior to the service.

The committal and entombment service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the mausoleum at Washing County Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Tuesday. Online condolences may be shared on our website, www.
