Obituary for Robert S. Myers Robert S. Myers, age 77, of Gray, TN went home to be with his Lord on Friday, September 21, 2018 from Johnson City Medical Center. Many knew him as “Doodaddy”. Born in Tazwell County, VA Robert was the only son of the late Sylvie Freemont Myers and Nell Ruth Cruey Myers but was considered a brother too many.

Robert Myers was known to be an even tempered, patient, and wise man who found his joy by helping others and serving his God. He was known by his grandchildren as their biggest fan and would stay busy attending their different sporting events, dances, and shows. Robert Myers was a graduate of Virginia Tech and worked as a mechanical engineer in the Rubber and Plastic manufacturing industry, the last 25 years owning his own business, but remained humble and maintained a powerful work ethic through it all.

He loved to hunt, fish, watch his Hokies and enjoyed golfing. Above all, Robert was a man who loved God, his family, and his Hokies. Mr. Myers was a member of Boone Trail Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and a discipleship director.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Constance S. Myers who he adored. Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Darrell Myers and wife Laura of Grafton Ohio; a daughter, Pamela Dance and husband Bryan of Jonesborough; his grandchildren: Jon Daniel of Atlanta Georgia, Macey Dance of Jonesborough, Jamie Myers of Grafton Ohio, Makenna Dance of Jonesborough, and Julianne Myers of Grafton Ohio; his brother in law, Keith Scruggs of Lynchburg Virginia. He is also survived, and loved by many other family members in the Scruggs and Cruey Clans.

A service to honor the life of Robert Myers will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 24, 2018 in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Reverend Ira G. Cunningham and Reverend Dwight Jenkins, ministers officiating. Music will be provided by Charlotte Kiser. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday prior to the funeral service.

Committal service and Entombment will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Active pallbearers selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at Washington County Memory Gardens at 9:50 AM to attend the service.
