Obituary for Billy D. Stevens Mr. Billy D. Stevens, age 78, of Hampton, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Elizabethton and was a son of the late Charles Ray and Anne Beryl Archer Stevens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Ray Stevens, James Foster Stevens, Archer Nelson Stevens and a brother-in-law, Clyde Poarch.

Mr. Stevens was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Those left to cherish his memory include a brother, Lee Roy Stevens (Marlene), of Seattle, WA; three sisters, Hattie Bell Poarch, of Elizabethton; Peggy Stevens, of Hampton; Mary Lou Livingston (Richard), of Elizabethton; a special niece, Sue Pierce, of Elizabethton; and a special friend, Lee Garland of Hampton. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends in from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the home at other times. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, September, 12, 2018, at 12:00 PM in the Johnson-Roanview Cemetery in Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be Robert Archer, John Harmon, John Pierce, Jason Honeycutt, Bruce Stevens, Bud Stevens, Doug Stevens and Stacy Archer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Livingston, Charles Sells and Will Hardy. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 11:50 AM on Wednesday. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the folks “who picked him up and brought him home”.
