Obituary for Weaver Winston “Bill” Guinn Weaver Winston “Bill” Guinn, age 82, of Bluff City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center, following an extended illness. Weaver was born in Carter County to the late Will Guinn and Mary Belle Wilcox Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Guinn.
Weaver had worked as a roofer and was an Army National Guard veteran, having achieved the status of Specialist 2nd Class (E-5). He was of the Baptist faith and attended Mountain View Baptist Church in Johnson City. He enjoyed going to the flea market, hunting arrowheads, fishing, playing guitar and riding horses.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years, Anna Leona Gouge Guinn, of the home; five children, Joe Guinn and wife Debra, Virginia “Jenny” Bradley and husband Sandy, all of Elizabethton, Brenda Stamey and husband David, of Pennington Gap, VA, Janice Gentry and husband Earl Wayne, of Elizabethton and Ronnie Folk, of Wisconsin; two brothers, Burchell Guinn, of Friendship, TN and Junior Guinn and wife Judy, of Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Johnny Guinn, Nikki Bradley, Bryan Crabtree, Dusty Bradley and Joseph Forrester; seven great-grandchildren, Bryanna Crabtree, Sidney Crabtree, Savannah Hartgrove, Abigail Bradley, Wesley Guinn, Shaun Guinn and Jace Forrester; a special niece, Shannon Barron and her daughter, Asya Miller; and the mother of his children, Bernice Deloach, of Elizabethton. A service to celebrate the life of Weaver Winston “Bill” Guinn will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. James Cambron and Rev.
Carl Houser, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday or at the residence at any time. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in the Highland Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Joe Guinn, Dusty Bradley, Sandy Bradley, Earl Gentry, David Stamey, Bryan Crabtree, Joseph Forrester and Junior Guinn. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 10:30 AM on Thursday, to go in procession.
