Obituary for Lena Plank Lena Plank of Bluff City, TN, slipped quietly thru Heaven’s door on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the age of 91. A native of Sullivan County, she was the daughter of the late Lige and Cordie McKinney Gouge. She retired from the Sullivan County School System as a cafeteria worker.

Lena was a member of Piney Flats Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Shirley Edward “Pete” Plank; a son, Roy Plank; a daughter, Shirley Plank Jacobs; a great-granddaughter, Shelby McCamy; as well as two brothers and three sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Barbara Plank Shell and a son, Johnny Wayne Plank both of Piney Flats; a sister, Sally Kyker of Jonesborough; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Lena’s life will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel with Dr. Robert Rainwater officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the funeral service and at the home of her daughter at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Shell Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jerry Graham, Clifford Hall, Donald Plank, Joey Mcelyea, Raymond Francis and John Bibbee. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Wednesday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Piney Flats Presbyterian Church, 6400 Highway 11E, Piney Flats, TN, 37686.
