Obituary for Gladys Brewer Gladys Maude Blankenship Brewer, 87, of Johnson City went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, August 30, 2018. Gladys was the daughter of the late, James and Maude Blankenship. Gladys was a loving mother and grandmother who loved Jesus.

She taught Sunday School at North Johnson City Baptist Church. Gladys loved gardening, cooking, reading her Bible daily, and especially loved spending time with her friends and family and having family gatherings. In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vernon Brewer; brothers, James K. Blankenship II, Sonny Blankenship, Clyde Blankenship, Rhewdell Blankenship; sisters, Rhea Blankenship Johnson, Alberta Blankenship Nickols, Mary Eta and Blankenship Sloper; grandchildren, Timothy Ross Campbell and Robbie Neal Campbell; and great-grandchild, Karson Ford Griffith.

Those left to cherish the memory of Gladys include her children, Dwight Brewer, Randolph Brewer, Sherry Brewer Campbell, and Kristy Brewer Weber; grandchildren, Kimberly Brewer Maggart, Scott Brewer, Andrew Weber, Kassidy Weber, Brandon Weber, and April Campbell Leonard; great-grandchildren, Colt Brewer, Dakota Brewer, Bryson Griffith, and Violet Leonard; and sister, Barbara Blankenship Hall. Gladys’ family would like to offer a special thank you to the Smoky Mountain Hospice and special caregivers, Amy Williams and Cortney Avery. The family will greet friends to share memories on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 2:00 pm until a Celebration of Gladys’ Life at 3:00 pm at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City with Pastor Rick Powell officiating.

Pallbearers will include Dwight Brewer, Brandon Weber, Randolph Brewer, Bryson Griffith, Dakota Brewer, and Pat Weber. If you prefer to give a donation in lieu of flowers, please donate to North Johnson City Baptist Church in honor of Ms. Brewer. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.
