Obituary for Maxine Maes-Benkowski Maxine Maes-Benkowski of Arvada, Colorado, age 47, passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident on Saturday evening April 14, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents; Pauline and George Maes and grandparents; Dulciena and Antonio Maes, Emelia and Abel Sanchez, Joe and Saloma Martinez, Moises and Maclovia Maes; father-in-law, Dennis Benkowski. Survived by her sons; Blaze, Cody and Andy Benkowski, and granddaughter, Zeyla Benkowski.

Also survived by fiance, Jim Alpar and former spouse, Eddie Benkowski, brother, Paul (Janan) Maes, mother-in-law, Ilene Benkowski, Many nieces, nephews and numerous family and friends. Maxine was a devoted mother and grandma. She loved the outdoors and riding her motorcycle.

She was adventurous and had a zeal for life. Her smile lit up a room, she was loud and had a contagious laugh. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

Visitation services will be held at Romero Family Funeral Home in Denver, on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral services will be held at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church in Arvada on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by a procession to Arvada Cemetery for burial. Reception immediately following.
