She was born on September 11, 1976 in Magnolia, AR. Melanie was preceded in death by her step-father Dewayne Jackson; former husband John Saunders; and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Larry Henderson of Palestine, TX; mother Virginia Jackson of Magnolia, AR; father George Miller and wife Chondra of Magnolia, AR; sons, David McGuffin and wife Kessa of Magnolia, AR, John Saunders II of Palestine, TX, and Charlie Henderson of Palestine, TX; daughters, Jamie Brewster and husband Grant of Gurdon, AR, Mary Knapp and husband Terry of Palestine, TX, and Macy Saunders of Little Rock, AR; sisters, Lizz Fitzgerald and husband Tony of Omaha, AR, Brittany Murry and husband Tyler of Houston, TX, and Carley Shah and husband Shane of Rayville, LA; and brother Buddy Jackson and wife Brandy of Arkadelphia, AR; and a host of grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Pentecostals of Magnolia Church. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be sent to Arkansas Child Fund, P.O. Box 6388, North Little Rock, AR, 72124.
