Melvenia’s Obituary Melvenia Tyreese Foust Smith, formerly of Asheboro transitioned to eternal life Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC. She was born July 22, 1944 to Hijah and Dora Letterlough Foust in Randolph County where she attended Central School and was a 1962 graduate of Central High School. Melvenia was employed at Foust Photographic for many years and retired from Arrow International.

She was a very active member of Mitchell United Methodist Church where she organized the children’s choir, “The Young Voices” and served as Lay Servant Leader. Melvenia loved the outdoors where her green thumb abilities were on display in beautiful flower beds. Mrs. Smith is survived by: her husband, Daniel M. Smith of the Home; children, Melonise “Princess” Barlow (William, “Bill”) of Elon NC, Revondia “Jeanie” Spinks of Greensboro, NC, Samuel Keith Spinks (Emily) of Thomasville, NC, and Rodney Craig Spinks of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Leah Harper (Jerome) William Barlow, III and Isaiah Barlow ; great grandson, Josiah Harper, step children: Lynelle Smith, Charlene S. Martin, Adrienne S. Mcrae and Chad Smith all of West End, NC, as well as a host of grands and great grands by marriage and will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
