Obituary for Melvin K. Doremire Mr. Melvin K. Doremire, age 90, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in Muskegon. He was born on July 28, 1928 in Muskegon to Wayne and Mable (Perkins) Doremire and resided in the area all his life. Melvin worked at Scott Paper for 40 years before retiring in 1990 and was the Union President for many years.
Melvin was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was a former Orchard View High School Board Member, and was a man of many talents including little league youth coach for many winning sports teams, woodworking, and he enjoyed painting. On June 24, 1950, he married the former Eleanor Houseman and she preceded him in death on October 28, 2011 after 61 years of marriage.
SURVIVORS include five children, Julie (Ronald) Hower, Mary Jo (Thomas) Trenter, Barbara Doremire, Michael (Gina) Doremire, and Robert (Debra) Doremire; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Schertenlieb. Melvin was also preceded in death by his grandson, Tony Doremire. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev.
Fr. Phil Shangraw presiding. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM at church.
Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to St. Thomas Catholic Church will be appreciated. Share memories with the family online at www.
