Melvin L Burdine , May 19, 1942 — October 13, 2018

Melvin L. Burdine, age 76 formerly of Conneaut died Saturday morning October 13, 2018 in Andover. Mel was born May 19, 1942 in Moundsville, West Virginia the son of Clarence Burdine and Minnie Trenter. Following high school Mel went on to serve his country in the United States Navy until he was honorably discharged.

Mel was a resident of the Conneaut area for most of his life and was employed with the Horton -Wilbert Precast Vault company in Conneaut for many years and later in Girard, PA. , for over 40 years until his retirement as Plant Manager. Mel enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.

He loved to take long drives in the country backroads with his late wife Bonnie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie Mason Burdine (2011), a brother Robert Burdine and a sister Sharon Beeman. Mel is survived by two sons, Scott and Susie Burdine of Conneaut, William “Pete” Burdine of Conneaut, a daughter Tammy Sikora of West Springfield, PA, 2 grandchildren Brandon and Kayla Burdine, Ryan Sikora, three great-grandchildren, Aurora Burdine, Arielle Burdine and Liam Sikora.

Also surviving is Mel’s sister Bonnie Loomis of Monroe and his companion whom Mel resided with Nancy Popka. At Mel’s request there will be no services. Memorial contributions in Mel’s memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Foundation, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
