Darlene R. Dain, 79, of Conneaut, passed away Tuesday evening, November 13, 2018 surrounded by her family, at Hillcrest Hospital. She was born June 4, 1939 in Galloway, WV, and was the daughter of John and Margaret (Robinson) McCoy. Darlene was a cook at Sportsline Bar and was a member of the Conneaut Eagles, Elks, Moose, VFW, and American Legion.

She was mostly active with the Eagles Club #408, where she was past President of the Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking, painting, doing ceramics, crocheting, camping, traveling in years past, singing Christian music with her siblings, and was a huge Bingo fan. She adored her grandchildren, and was known as a social butterfly.

Survivors include her sons Nathan (Rayne) Burr of Conneaut, and Richard Burr of Ashtabula; her daughters Tammy Harrison of Jefferson, Sandra (Dale Denney) Burr of Kingsville, Darla (Craig) Asari 0f Conneaut, Melissa (Ed) Reydak of Conneaut, and Terri (Les Miller) Phendler of Conneaut; her sisters Clara “Jo” Turkenburg of Madison, Sue Silveroli of Madison, and Vicki Nishimoto of Texas; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Chuck Dain in 1992; twins at birth Cheryl and Nathan; her daughter Nataline Burr; her sisters Dorothy Mandagel and Mary Woods; and her brothers Bill and Jack McCoy. Graveside service with inurnment will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville, OH, with Rev.

April Osborne officiating. Contributions may be made in memory of Darlene to Operation Toy Soldier, a not-for-profit program that helps local active duty and non-active duty military families. Envelopes will be available at the service, at also at the Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
