Obituary of Dorothy Stasiak ERIE, PA- Dorothy L. Stasiak, 90, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Hamot Medical Center after short illness. The daughter of Edward and Mary (Broughton) Babcock, Dorothy was born on January 29, 1928 in Ashtabula, Ohio and remained a life long area resident. A graduate of the class of 1946 from Ashtabula High School, Dorothy kept in contact with her classmates.

Dorothy and Richard (Dick) Stasiak were united in marriage on June 30, 1977 and created many memories along the way. After Dick’s death in 2016 those memories made her heart happy. She is a member of Pierpont Presbyterian Church and served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, a long-time member of the choir and Quilting Club where many hours were spent with her friends.

She was employed with Jefferson Manufacturing in the production department and enjoyed the friendships she made. Dorothy shared a love of horses with Dick and they were co-owners of Whispery Pines Lumber. They enjoyed the many people they met along the way as they showed horses at the many county fairs.

Dorothy is survived by; Barbara (Ed) Rettinger of N. Kingsville; and Eugene Leopard of Pierpont; grandchildren; Sam (Kellie) Rettinger , Michele (Paul) Jones, Kellie(Lewis) Dunbar, Lana(Lawrence ”Skip”) Ensman, Edward J. (Chandel) Rettinger, II, ; step- children; Linda (Jerry) Bryan of Andover, Barbara (Thomas) Sokowski of Carrollton, Thomas (Denise) Stasiak of Andover, Dr. Steve (Joan) Stasiak of Minerva ; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Vera McGinnis of Ashtabula, Ken Babcock also of Ashtabula and sister-in-law, Dom Babcock of Colorado and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant son, David Edward Leopard; brother John. D. Babcock; parents, and great granddaughter, Taylor Rettinger.

Calling hours will be held from 10AM until 12PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Pierpont Presbyterian Church, State Route 7 North, Pierpont, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 12PM at the church. with Rev.

Larry Carr, officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, North Kingsville, Ohio. If desired, friends may make contributions in Dorothy’s name to the Ashtabula County Humane Society, P. O. Box 422, Jefferson, Ohio, 44047 Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut is honored to serve the family.
