Merrian Malone Caldwell February 21, 1936 – December 29, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Merriam Malone Caldwell, 82, of Rome, Georgia departed this life on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Floyd Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 21, 1936 to the late William and Elizabeth (Scott) Malone in Rome, Georgia. Merriam spent her entire life in Rome where she attended Main High School, and worked at Floyd Hospital, where she retired.

Merriam was a faithful member of the Lewis Chapter #19 OES. She attended Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church until her husband was ordained as a minister, which led her to leave and be by his side at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Curryville Georgia and Friendship Baptist Church in Adairsville Georgia . Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and five brothers.

Merriam leaves her memories to be cherished by her daughters, Patricia McKinney and Angela White, a son, Hugh Don Jr (Deborah) Caldwell, one sister, Mrs. Edith Malone Cunningham of Ypsilanti, Michigan, a sister in-law Mrs. Glenda Carson, one brother in-law Mr. Willie F. (Ola) Caldwell, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and special friends Mrs.Ida M. Ransby and Mrs.Brenda Lavette and Mr. Claude Carson. Service for Mrs. Caldwell will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Lovejoy Baptist Church, 436 Branham Ave, Rome, Georgia 30161. She will lie in-state from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Interment will follow the service at Floyd Memorial Gardens on 411 Cartersville Highway, Rome, Georgia 30161. The family will receive friends at 1605 Flannery Street, Rome, Georgia 30161 Wright Memorial Mortuary, Inc. has full charge of arrangements.
