Shirley Richards December 31, 1940 – January 20, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Shirley Temple Duncan Richards, age 78, of the Babbie Community died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at her home. Mrs. Richards was born December 31, 1940 in Dozier to the late Roy and Claudie (Hudson) Duncan. She married Dorman Richards on June 3, 1960.

Together they enjoyed traveling the world while he served in the military. The family returned to the Babbie Community in 1984. She is survived by her loving husband, Dorman J. Richards; daughters & sons-in-law, Mona Borgen & Leif and Karen Rogers & Paul; sisters & brothers-in-law, Louise Beck & Randolph and Carolyn Hudson & Steve; grandchildren, Jennifer Griffith, Dylan Borgen and Brianna Rogers; and great-grandchild, Sophie Grace Griffith.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Duncan, Charlie Duncan, Randall Duncan, Jerry Duncan, Robert Duncan and Donald Ray Duncan; and sister, Margaret Duncan Smith. The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to her special friend, Lynette Ridgeway, and DaySpring Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Will Jordan will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Hammett, Richard Hammett, Robert Butler, Justin Holloway, Christopher Spann and Ramey Bryan.
