Michael D. Greiner, 75, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Heritage House of Connersville where he had been a resident for several months. One of four children of Edwin and Dorothy Wilhelm Greiner, Mike was born October 16, 1942, in Connersville where he lived his entire life. After graduation from Connersville High School in 1960, he entered the United States Air Force.

Following four years of service when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman 1st Class, he began work on the family farm and dog kennel until 2012. He took great pride in his work as well as devoting love and care to the animals. Michael was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #861.

He loved sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed playing cards, horse racing, and family gatherings. His gift of storytelling as well as remembering dates and details brought great joy and laughter to those who remember him. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; and sister-in-law, Marian.

Survivors include two sisters, Sara (Dan) Broaddus of Florissant, Missouri, and Nancy (Tom) Jurmanovich of Connersville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Reverend Dustin Boehm at St. Gabriel Church on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. Friends and family may pay respects on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Because of Mike’s deep love for his church, ailing children, and animals, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gabriel Church or School, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Fayette County Humane Society. Online condolences may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
