Rhinebeck – Mildred R. Haskins, 94, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Newburgh, NY Mildred was a lifelong resident of the Rhinebeck area. She was born June 17, 1924 in Milan, the daughter of Oliver E. and Bertha (Bathrick) Rider. She was a graduate of Krissler Business Institute in Poughkeepsie.

Mildred worked in numerous businesses and positions in the area; she was the bookkeeper for the Community Garage, Rhinebeck; store manager for the Bard College Book Store; Teller and Manager of the East Park Branch of Rhinebeck Savings Bank; and tax collector for the Town of Rhinebeck. In addition, she was a member of the Church of the Messiah where she also served on the Alter Guild; secretary for the Rhinebeck Cemetery Assoc. ; and member of the Rhinebeck AARP.

She was predeceased by her husband John Cramer Haskins in 1991; a sister Elizabeth “Betty” Lloyd; and two brothers Louis B. and Donald O. Rider. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy H. and Arthur M. Mamazza of Newburgh; a granddaughter Lisa M Mamazza; a grandson Arthur C. Mamazza and his wife Laura; a great grandson Lucas and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Friday October 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market Street, Rhinebeck.

Funeral services will be Saturday October 27, 2018 at 10 am at the Church of the Messiah. Interment will follow in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.
