Obituary for Mildred J. Doulen RICHMOND, Ind. – Mildred J. Doulen, age 81, of Richmond, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Reid Health. Born September 25, 1937, in Jensen, Kentucky, to Charles Dewey and Lucy Messer Elliott, Mildred lived in this community most of her life.

She was a crossing guard at Westview Elementary for 27 years. Mildred was a devout Christian who attended Centerville Church of the Nazarene and loved her church family. Mildred had a passion for shopping.

She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. Survivors include her daughters, Lisa (Larry Dixon) Chambers, Marta (Tony) Call, and Lori (Ronnie) Vaughn, all of Richmond; son, Rick (Cynthia) Doulen of Fountain City, Indiana; grandchildren, Ranee Rich, Scott (Stacy) Doulen, Derrick Doulen, Jamie (Ryan) Seal, Ryan (Valerie) Vaughn, and Kami (Mikey)Vaughn; 14 great-grandchildren, to whom she was lovingly known as “Old Granny”; siblings, Bytha Lefevers, Ilena (Ernie) Bicknell, Brenda (Dale) Lawson, Charles (Kay) Elliott, and Larry Elliott; special sister-in-law, Jean Doulen; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Renus “Foxy” Doulen, who died December 21, 2002, and parents.

Visitation for Mildred J. Doulen will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Trevor Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
