Mildred W. (Kousch) (Korostynski) DuBois, 98, of Westfield passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 25, 1920 in Westfield, MA to the late Charles and Eva Kousch. She worked for Landau’s JJ Newberry’s, Brundidge’s, Forbes and Wallace, Oxford Machine Company and Digital Equipment Company.

She was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved her church and pastors. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile since 1978, while her beloved late husband, Ralph, was a member of Melha, a division that supports the Shriner’s Hospital.

Mildred was married to the late Metlei Korostynski for 25 years and the late Ralph DuBois for 35 years. She is survived by her son Glenn A. Korostynski, daughters Sherrie and her husband William Sperry, and Judith G. Garvey. She also leaves 4 grandchildren, Shawn Garvey and his wife, Kimberly D’Urso of California, Scott Garvey, Kara and her husband Brian Knapp of Vermont and Nathan and his wife Jessica Sperry of Russell.

Mildred also leaves 7 great-grandchildren, Skylar, Emma, Evan, Zeb, Lydia, Josiah and Naomi. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Wanda Kousch and son Steven Kousch. Mildred leaves her niece Carol Bailargeon and her children Richard and Kim Buckelew and Ryan Buckelew.

Mildred loved life and her family and friends. She had incredible talents. She loved interior design, fashion, dancing and making people feel welcome.

Mildred will be missed deeply by her family and friends. Her strength, creativity and laughter will live on in her family forever. The family would like to extend a thank you to all the staff at Westfield Center Nursing Home on East Silver in Westfield and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to our mom during her stay at the nursing home.

The nursing staff and activity department meant so much to her. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts! Mildred’s funeral will be held on Monday at 12:30PM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Western Ave.

Westfield. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 11AM-12PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield. A Daughters of the Nile Service will be at 11:45.
