Waterford, VT: Milton Edward Lund, age 86, passed away early Tuesday morning April 17, 2018, at his home with his family at his side following a very brief decline in health. Milton was born on May 13, 1931, son to the late Edward and Gladys (Tyler) Lund. He grew up and was educated in Granby and Victory, VT.

At the age of 21 Milt joined the US Army and served in Korea where he received the Bronze Service Star. For over 35 years he worked for VT Transportation and took several classes for his occupation. On October 21, 1956 he married the former Eleanor Marion Santaw and shared 61 years together until her death on March 25, 2017, and for the last few years of her life, he took excellent care of her.

They made their family’s home in Waterford for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cutting wood, gardening, boating and travelling to Alaska. Milton had 4 sets of deer horns in Vermont State Records with more to be recorded.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Lund and her companion, Howard Stahler, Jr. of Waterford, his sister: Elsie Cady and husband, Clark, of Lyndonville and several close nieces and nephews. Milton was predeceased by his beloved wife: Eleanor Lund; his older sisters: Izola Irwin and Helen Farmer; his twin sister: Minnie Olson; his brother: Henry Lund; sisters-in-law: Hope Lund and Lorraine Racine. Milton’s older brother, George, passed away on the same day; Milton in the early hours of the morning and George in the early afternoon.

The families will be celebrating their lives together in one service on Saturday, April 21, 2018, 5PM, at the Lower Waterford/3rd Congregational Church. Rev. Anne Hockridge and Rev.

Barbara Dwyer will share the honor of officiating the service. The family will receive guests for visitation from 4PM until the hour of service. Burial will take place later in the spring at Appleton Cemetery in Granby, VT.
