Milton Irving Mann (born September 17, 1929) passed peacefully at his home in Village Shalom, Overland Park, KS, on May 20, 2019. He was a man who lived his life collecting people and delighting in their company, their goodness, their humor and their camaraderie. His sons revered and honored him the entirety of his life and he left them no doubt as to his pride and appreciation for each of them.

He was a particularly devoted son to his mother who suffered from MS most of his young life. In kind, he shared a most beautiful love and devotion with his mother-in-law, Mildred Ellis, of most blessed memory. Whether he was an uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, or any other relation, Milton was among your favorite – known for his gentle, warm and humorous nature.

He was particularly able and confident enough to wear his emotions on his sleeve, not afraid to cry in sorrow or joy. And he passed that trait to his sons. Milton was active in ROMEOs for more than 20 years and volunteered at the Menorah Hospital’s Cardio unit for many years earning recognition for well over one thousand hours.

He was a proud Eagle Scout from Troop 61 and warrior in the great tribe of Mic-o-Say. Professionally, Milton spent years 17 years with Smith St John Restaurant Equipment and Supply rising from floor sales to Executive Vice President. He then spent 17 years as a manufacturer’s rep with Fewin and Mapes Marketing.

He was remembered and honored as a consummate professional and giant in the industry. Milton was pre-deceased by his parents, Abraham and Pearl Mann, of blessed memory, and his beloved wife of 54 years, Beverly (Ellis) Mann, of blessed memory. He leaves behind his sons Richard (Sonia Levin), Phillip (Beth) and Jeffrey (Sheryl); his grandchildren Shira Mann, Abby (Yan) Kerzhner, Joel (Shanna Hersh) Mann, Michael Mann, Morgan Mann, Daniel Barry and Martin Mann; great-granddaughters, Emunah and Shayna Kerzhner.

Milton also leaves his loving and devoted sister Barbara (Bernard) Birnbaum and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. He spent the final 10 years of his life in the companionship of his beloved Irene Goodman. Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Louis Memorial Chapel.

Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
