We regret to announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, Mofalda “Moffa” Elda, 100, of Crabtree, on May 14, 2018, at RNC Pittsburgh, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 27, 1917, to the late Catherine and Sabatino Marcelli.

Mother grew up in the depression era and did not have the opportunity to attend high school because of her mother’s frail health. However, she was very wise and talented as shown in her Italian cooking and baking abilities. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, their Rosary Society and Fellowship group and Crabtree Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxilary.

She was an avid bingo player and loved to go to the casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy J. Elda; sister, Lydia Diberadine; brothers, Herman, John, Gene, Christopher and Romeo Marcelli; and granddaughter-in-law, Michele Ungvarsky. She is survived by her children, Cecelia Ungvarsky and husband, John, and Janet Karas and husband, Richard, all of Greensburg, James Elda, of Crabtree, and Mary Ann Cantrell, of Paoli, Pa.

; grandchildren, Michael Ungvarsky, of Greensburg, Lauren Elda, of Chicago, Ill. , and Catie and Connor Ritchie, of Paoli; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Moffa from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC.

, 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020. A funeral Mass is to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in the St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Father Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Everyone please go directly to the church.

Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Excela Health Hospice and the staff at RNC Pittsburgh in Greensburg for their excellent care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mt.

Carmel c/o St. Bartholomew Church, 2538 Route 119,Crabtree, PA 15624. Moffa’s family has entrusted her care to the PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC. , Greensburg.
