Mother Dorothy Lee (Sledge) Goodlow was born October 2, 1931 in El Dorado, AR the daughter of Porter Sledge Sr. and Odessa (Raulston) Sledge.

Mother Goodly received her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ under the tutelage of Elder T.R. and Mother Erma Harris of the Harris Temple Church of God in, Christ, Flint, MI during Easter Sunrise Service. Mother Goodlow served her church and helped to create groups that would go to work to build and beautify the church. She had many fundraisers to help plant beautiful shrubbery on the church grounds, she believed in aiding the Pastor.

The church had dinners every Friday and she would fill up her car to go wherever she needed until they were sold. Usually that meant going into a bar where they were always hungry and always had money, she would say “this is for the Lord’s house”. Mother Goodlow loved all of God’s children (the saints) ; however she had a special passion for newly saved converts; she would load up the car with their children and hers and we would all ride to the southside of town.

Mother Goodlow received her Evangelist license under the auspices of the Women’s Department Great Lakes Michigan Mother May Jane Hopkins. Upon receipt of her papers she told God, I want to show me how to master this license and He did. She was a true Evangelist until the day she took her last breath.

She could be found in Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Save-Mart asking do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior, she would wait and their reply was no she would walk them through the sinners prayer, with follow-up to make sure they found a church home. Mother Goodlow felt the call to go to Rhema Bible College where she graduated and deepened her walk with the Lord. Mother Goodlow was prayer warrior, she knew the power of prayer and fasting, she knew if God didn’t do it, it couldn’t be done; however, there was little doubt in her mind that He wouldn’t.

Her children would hear her say “God I need a favor”. and He did it. Mother Goodlow leaves to cherish her memory: children, Elder & Mrs. Eddie (Carolyn) Yarbrough of El Dorado, AR, Ms. Renee (Goodlow) Calvert of Smyrna, GA, Mr. Robert A.
