Obituary for Myra Skipper (Wood) Myra Skipper, 73, of Opelika, AL, formerly of the Ozarks and Greenville, MO, passed away September 24, 2018 at East Alabama Medical Center. She was born February 17, 1945 to parents Walter and Zita (Ratcliff) Wood. Myra married State Skipper August 25, 1968 and to this union was four children.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1968, Myra received her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State University and began teaching school. She also worked as an office manager of a counseling clinic.

With a love for helping others, Myra worked at Minirth-Skipper Counseling Center. Myra was a strong Christian woman and taught her children the importance of good Christian values. She enjoyed the outdoors and baking cookies with her granddaughter.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, children: Todd Skipper, Ty Skipper, Zachary Skipper, and Amy Tatum; grandchildren: Tristan Tatum and Mia Tatum. Many friends who will miss her.

Myra is preceded in death by both parents, one brother; Lewis Wood, sisters; Imogene Jordan and JoAnn Gwaltney. There will be a graveside memorial service at 1:30 pm held Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Greenville City Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.
