Myrtle Cordelia “Cordy” Koontz, 75, of Charlotte Hall, Maryland, died on January 15, 2019 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata. Born on February 17, 1943 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Myrtle Louise Goebel White and Sanford Robert White. Cordy attended Suitland Senior High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1961.

A homemaker and mom, Cordy was a well-accomplished artist and received many awards for her paintings. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, gardening, and just about any craft project that her creative mind would fancy. In addition to her parents, Cordy was preceded in death by her daughter Nicole R. Phipps and son-in-law David Phipps.

She is survived by her children Gregory A. Koontz, Matthew I. Koontz and Honor D. Koontz; grandchildren Noelle, Sachelle, Dustin, Jade, Wylie and Sol; great grandchildren Reese, Elijah and Christian.
