Nancy Ann Holeman Holmes, age 69, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Baptist Health, Paducah, KY. Ms. Holmes was born on July 11, 1948 in Princeton, KY to the late Herschel Lafayette Holeman and Nicholas Elmo P’Poole Holeman. She was a retired college professor at several universities including having taught for three years at the collegiate level in Japan, five years at Rogers State University in Oklahoma and four years at Aiken Technical in South Carolina.

Ms.… Read More » Holmes received a double Masters from Murray State University one of each in English Literature and Russian History, and she completed her ABD at University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Holmes is survived by two daughters ~ Lieschen Alane McElwee of Gallatin, TN, and Dixie Frances Kennedy of Clarksville, TN; two grandchildren ~ Megan Amelia McElwee and Erin Taylor McElwee, and one great~granddaughter ~ Mia Rose Coleman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband ~ Milton Charles Holmes, sister ~ Melissa Jo Swatzell, half sister ~ Dixie White, three half brothers ~ Robert Holeman, Claude Holeman and Richard Holeman.
