Nancy Lynn Roy, age 52, of Red Lake, MN, began her spiritual journey on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND. She was born on January 24, 1966, the daughter of Hubert ad Alma (Greene) Roy. She was raised in Red Lake and went to Red Lake High School.

Throughout her life she worked various jobs including, yardwork, housekeeping, general maintenance at the Mission School, and finally as a Personal Care Assistant for Home and Heart. In her free time, she enjoyed taking walks, being at the lake, cruising, and being with her family and friends. She loved to watch tv especially lifetime movies.

She was quite the fancy dancer and often went to powwows and celebrations when she was younger. She was known to one and all as the life of the party and would tease those she cared about mercilessly. Family and friends that are waiting to welcome her home include her parents, Hubert and Alma Roy, brother, Paul Roy, niece, Denise Thompson, and great nephew, Sylis Thompson, as well as all others that have gone before.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her twin sons, Ricky and Ryan Roy; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Debra Roy, Kimberly Greene, and Rhonda Roy; and brother, David Roy; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A wake for Nancy will begin at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019, and continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019, all to be held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Officiating her service will be Zack Earley.

Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN. Pallbearers will be Cory Peterson, Antonio Roy, Dan Roy, Rob Roy, Chris Roy, and Clayton Francis. Alternate pallbearers will be, Patrick Defoe, Jr., Paul Peterson, Brody Allen, Steven Defoe, and Branden Waters.

Honorary pallbearers will be, Ted Gurneau, Jr., Doug Collaff, Steven Omen, Harvey Thompson, Bobby McNeal, Greg Maxwell, Alberta Senegals, Sandy Brown, Lois Thompson, Joy Martineau, Liz Diver, Mary Ellen Cook, Donna Howard, Linda Omen, Becky McGraw, Peggy Donelle, and Alice “Maysa” Lussier.
