Obituary for Nancye Ursery McNew Nancye Ursery McNew, 87, of Pine Bluff passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. She was born September 26, 1931 to the late William Stanley Ursery and Mary Charles Lee Ursery. Mrs. McNew was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff and was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School.

Nancye Ursery married Charles Scott McNew, III on August 26th, 1950 in Pine Bluff. He preceded her in death in 2014. In the years that followed, she spent her time as a dedicated homemaker and mother.

An elegant and graceful woman, Mrs. McNew will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and kind friend. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was the first woman on the Vestry. Mrs. McNew also served as past president of E.C.W., member of St. Elizabeth’s Guild and a former Sunday School teacher.

Mrs. McNew was a member and past president of Jr. Sesame Club, past member of Junior League of Pine Bluff, L.W. Ladies Association, Pine Bluff Ladies Golf Association, Pine Bluff Duplicate Bridge, and member of Bess Jenkins Garden Club. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Walter Scott McNew; sister, Isabel Cooper; and son-in-law, Terry Scoggins. Survivors include her children, Kathleen McNew Charles (Tommy) of Little Rock, Lee McNew Scoggins of Newport, and Charles W. McNew, Sr. (Lucy) of Pine Bluff; grandchildren Brooke Howard Clausen (Evan), Neil Charles, Nathan Charles (Julie), Mary Julian Scoggins Young (Stephen), William Terrell Scoggins (Jessica), Charles W. McNew, Jr., and Nancy Lee McNew; great-grandchildren Dylan Charles, Molly and Julia Clausen, Hunter, Oliver, Zoe, and Lucy Scoggins, Robert, Julian, and Dylan Young and Hattie Charles; brother Fred Ursery; and sister Sue Camp.

A memorial service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Reverend Dr. Walter Van Zandt Windsor officiating. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 703 West 3rd Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601.
