Obituary for Neil McDermott Neil McDermott, 85 years old, passed away on Saturday April 14, 2018, in his home in Broomall surrounded by his family and close friends. Neil will be deeply missed by his wife Kathleen (nee Flood), his children Hugh (Barbara), Annamarie, Patrick (Heather) and Grace (Patrick) Farrelly, his brother-in-law John Flood, and his grandchildren Hanna, Neil, Mackenzie, Molly, Caitlin, Abigail, Nora, Theresa and PJ. He is also survived by his sister Mary Smith of Glasgow, Scotland and Daniel McDermott of Manchester, England as well as many nieces and nephews in Ireland, England and Scotland.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Michael, Hugh, Joseph, and Patrick and his sister Bridget. Emigrating in 1973 with his wife of now 45 years, Neil was a proud native of Barnes, Termon, County Donegal, Ireland. Neil made a yearly trip to Ireland for 40 years.

He was a dedicated member of the Men of Malvern and Teamsters Local 169. The family is deeply thankful to Mainline Health Hospice who provided him with exceptional care in the final month of his fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. Family and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday April 20, 2018 from 6PM to 8PM and Saturday April 21, 2018 from 9AM to 10AM at Saint Pius X Church at 204 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008.

The Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday April 21, 2018 at 10AM at St. Pius X Church. Internment to follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association to support research, www.
