OBITUARY Nelda W. Spicer October 19, 1932 – October 15, 2018 Nelda W. Spicer, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, born in Clay County, Alabama on October 19, 1932 and she went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2018 at the age of 85. She was a faithful member of Fultondale First Baptist Church for 51 years. She loved her family dearly and cherished all the time she was able to spend with them.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Ola Stansell; her son, David Wesley; her brother, Jack Stansell; two sisters, Elene Limbaugh and Annie Mae Knight. Nelda is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, John W. Spicer; her daughter, Denise Godsey and her husband Wayne; six grandchildren, Bethany Hollis and her husband Bobby; Brittany Hope, Garrett Godsey and his wife Amber, Jacob Wesley, Jared Wesley, and Josh Wesley; two great grandchildren, Zoey Hollis and Halona Wesley; several other family members and a host of friends. Celebration of Life services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, October 18, 2018 with a time of visitation to begin at 1:30pm; celebration service at 3:00pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Gardendale, Alabama.
