OBITUARY Pauline Erma Oden July 1, 1929 – September 29, 2018 Pauline Erma Pesnell Oden of Gardendale was born July 1st, 1929 and passed away on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at the age of 89. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Oden was a longtime member of Gardendale’s First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Edward Junior “Shorty” Oden; a son, Eddie Junior Oden; and parents, George Franklin Pesnell and Fannie Thompson Pesnell; also her eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Danny Oden; grandchildren, Gina Smith, Wendy Woodard (Jeremy), Ryan Oden (Jessica), Justin Oden (Kristen), George Oden, Gordana Oden, Anna Oden, and Stefan Oden; great grandchildren, Madeline Smith, Carson Smith, Daylon Woodard, Jaxon Oden, and Amelia Fae Oden; her dearest daughter-in-law, Glenda Oden. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 1 PM with visitation one hour prior to service time.

Entombment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing staff of Hanceville Nursing Home for their loving care.
