Norma Kathleen Hunt of Claremore, Oklahoma April 1, 1922 – March 15, 2019 A funeral ceremony honoring and remembering the life of Norma Kathleen Hunt will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Norma passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 in Claremore at the age of 96. Born April 1, 1922 in Cherokee, Iowa, Norma was the daughter of Florence and Bertha (Olday) Gordon. She grew up on the family farm where she was always known to be a daddy’s girl.

Norma met Leo Hunt during World War II in Wichita while he was working for Boeing. The couple married November 21, 1943 in Great Bend, Kansas. She worked for many years in a nursery.

Norma always loved flowers, particularly orchids. She and Leo owned a farm in Nebraska where they raised beef cattle. Surviving family members include her sons, John and Jim Hunt; her nieces, Kathy Christiansen and Barbara Heikens, and her nephew, George A. Heikens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Vivian Heikens Herbster.
